Funding your Training

Central Government Funding

Train to Gain

This central government programme which funded NVQ;s will cease in march 2011 and at the moment there is no clear alternative central funding for training employees in the workplace.

Support for SME’s may be available from 2012

Student loans may be available from 2013

Apprenticeship Funding

Central government funding is now focused on apprenticeships which provide a substantial programme of training and development leading to nationally recognized qualifications.

16-19 years old - fully funded

19-25 years old - An employer/learners contribution will normally be required

25 years + Am employer/learner contribution will normally be required

Large employers – A extra contribution will normally be required from organizations employing over 1000 people

Employability - Funding for training and other financial incentives may be available for originations who can provide jobs for the long term unemployed. Contact us for further details

Local Funding

There may be some local funding initiatives may be available.

Sector Funding money

Funding may be available through sector skills councils, trade unions and other trade organizations. Example- Skills for Care currently have TSI funding available www.skillsforcare.org.uk
